Richtersveld Conservancy-1

After 2 days in the delightful village of Heuningvlei, it is time for us to move on. Instead of camping, we stay at the guesthouse and it's amazing how much luggage comes out of the trailer over such a short period of time. And it takes ages to get everything back into the trailer and the car!

As the Land Cruiser pulls our 1-ton heavy trailer up the tracks of the old Baines route, a couple of beautiful grey Klipspringers hops from one boulder onto another, strong and agile. The panorama over the Pakhuys Pass and the valley below is breathtaking.

In Springbok we refill fridges and storage boxes with food and drinks for 5 people for the next 12 days.  By the end of the day we reach Eksteenfontein, a small village in the heart of the Richtersveld Conservancy and camp at their newest camp site before it even has had a chance to enjoy an official opening. We are tired and tomorrow will be a busy day.
