Together we reach so many more children.

Kids of Nature donates 5% of its net yearly income to the Kids of Nature Foundation. This money is used to take underprivileged children into nature and to donate Kids of Nature books to learners and schools who cannot afford to buy quality, inspiring books.

With the help of dedicated volunteers and the support of sponsors and donors, the Kids of Nature Foundation has achieved the following success stories:

The foundation's research pilot project resulted in valuable insights. It also identified role models who now try to engage their communities in conservation and spread the word to other communities.

The field trips in 2008 and 2009 resulted in collaboration with indigenous communties (San in the Kalahari and Nama in the Richtersveld Conservancy), as well as visuals for the photographic library and a draft script for the stories. The trips also generated the interest of indigenous communities to grow their own projects in conjunction with the Kids of Nature Foundation.

The foundation's work has evoked the interest of the media. Magazines have offered free space for the foundation's editorials, TV channels offered free slots, and radio stations called for interviews.

More individuals and organisations started expressing their interest in collaborating and/or in setting-up a chapter of the Kids of Nature Foundation in other parts of the country and abroad. Other organisations wanted to integrate the Kids of Nature Foundation's material into their programmes for their beneficiaries.

In December 2009 the foundation published its first book 'Enya & James - In The Land Of Magic' to address climate change in an entertaining, non-threatening way, and in so-doing contribute to a greener and healthier world. The book is available directly from the Kids of Nature website or can be purchased at selected stores.

From December 2009 to April 2011 we ran a campaign donating 1 book 'Enya & James – In the Land of Magic' for each book sold. Thanks to like-minded people buying the book and corporate sponsorship we can now donate 1000 books to the Eco-Schools in South Africa, and another 500 books to other projects that are being evaluated.
